What if today was my last day on this earth?
Would I do my Work well and no duties shirk?
Would I act the way I act and say the things I say?
Would I help my friends and encourage them in every way?
Would my words be kind and true to everyone I saw?
Would I prove, by my acts, I live the pure celestial law?
If Today was the very last day I had to prove
My worthiness and all weaknesses remove,
Would my every step be straight upon the narrow way,
So that every moment left of time I would not have to pay?
Would I use each second sparingly as it was my last
That I may see Our Lord again and before him pass?
To be brought forth, In Dignity and grace
As we meet once again in a Loving warm embrace.
Oh May I use this precious time the Lord has given me
That I may be among the throng at that grand jubilee.
(Note From Writer)
I wrote this poem when, after visiting the doc, I was told i had lumps in my breast. I was waiting for a mamagram appointment. Cancer runs in the family so I was very worried. It turned out the lumps were not malignant, thank Heaven.
